Read more about the designers from Fishin’ for Fashion HERE.
I had no idea that there was a fashion show in Maine that invites designers to create wearable stuff made only with materials from the marine industry, like tarps, fishing line, shrink wrap, lobster traps, etc. Fishin’ for Fashion happens around Labor Day in Boothbay Harbor as part of the Boothbay Harbor Festival.
This year, Fishin’ for Fashion takes place on September 7.
I’ll be talking with some of the past designers from now until the event. I can’t wait to hear about their inspiration, creativity, and unique fashion sense. As a fan of stuff like Parley for Adidas, I would love to see some of the designs become a part of a brand.
The Fishin’ For Fashion is part of Boothbay Harbor Fest: a waterfront celebration of creative Mainers. The non-traditional festival format takes attendees on an adventure around the Boothbay peninsula to experience the local lifestyle, history and natural beauty of the region. The mission is to showcase and support our small business community in a creative and authentic Maine format. The fashion show is a signature event at The East Side Vibe Arts & Music Festival which takes place on a historic working waterfront in East Boothbay, featuring a Vintage & Artisan Market, a waterfront stage, food trucks and family activities… All Maine made!
Boothbay Harbor Fest always kicks off Labor Day weekend and closes the following weekend.
